UCA presents:

   THE JUNE  MEETING...2018

We will meet at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center,

1355 W. 3100 S. West Valley City,

Saturday, JUNE 16 • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PLEASE BRING:   Pencil • Ruler • Graph pad (we will have some for sale) • Pan watercolors (Prang is a good brand) • Water container • Glue Stick • Xacto knife or scissors • Bone Folder •  Paper Towels • Apron • 1/2 Inch Flat Brush––at Michaels two good brushes are Simply Simmons #16 and Zen Royal & Langnickel 1/2" Shader.  Both cost under $5.00  Last week they were on sale--buy one/get one 50% off.  You can also get that deal by buying online and picking them up in the store at no cost for shipping. If the sale is not still on, you can use their 40% off coupon.  At Hobby Lobby, I found a Master's Touch #14 flat shader that worked well.  They also have a 40% off coupon––Be sure your brush is cut straight across the top!  There may be a few brushes for sale at the meeting, but if you can bring your own, you will be sure to have one.  Your brush should look similar to the two on this page––short handle better than long.

PROJECT:   Faye Maxfield will help us construct two small accordion books to use in conjunction with the homework assignment for June.

We will be learning the Neuland alphabet with a twist.  That is, we will be using a flat brush to do the lettering.  This is a a fun alphabet and even more fun when you can brush it on the paper.  We will explore lots of techniques and different ways to combine Neuland with the pointed brush lettering we learned last month.  Faye will be teaching two books that you will love as a project!

Don't forget your Homework from our May meeting:                                       You can find the assignment by clicking on the "Homework Assignment" tab at the top of this page.

AS ALWAYS, IF YOU DON'T HAVE EVERYTHING, BRING WHAT YOU HAVE AND WE WILL SHARE!
